Charlton Alpacas was formed in 2004. Anticipating semi-retirement in a few years time, we purchased three fine white Alpacas from their native Peru, to be the foundation of our new herd. We now have 30+ animals, with more arriving each season.
We breed for sale and also for fibre production. We like to be able to introduce others to the joys of Alpaca breeding and, to that end, try to offer a range of animals at reasonable prices.
Manufacturing and selling socks is an important part of our business. We use British fleece (including all of our own) and British designers and processors. We are proud of our range of high quality alpaca socks which we consider to be at the very top end of the range.
We share our paddocks with Cedar House UK, the UK branch of the celebrated Australian herd. We also have a part share in Cedar House Storm 2, a male of tremendous quality and character.
